This week a dear young friend of mine had her first baby, and I had the pleasure of visiting her, her husband and her new baby in the hospital. Oh my goodness, he is just perfect and beautiful! Holding him brought back so many memories and emotions. I sure just wish I knew then what I know now. But to try to get specific and explain that is not easy.
Each stage of your child’s life has its own challenges and rewards. When they’re tiny infants they are the most manageable because they can’t get away from you, but they also need the most care and especially with your first, everything is new and you are the most inexperienced.
When they’re toddlers, you can not believe how fast these little people can move! Don’t blink, they’ll escape! They also are starting to have opinions about things, but without self- control or impulse-control. That’s fun!
Elementary age is a fun time, they start to become independent, start to learn who they are and you can reason with them.
Teen years are like a box of chocolates, you just don’t know what you’re going to get. There are hormones involved as well as first loves, driving, high school antics.
If I’m being honest, and I always try to be, I loved each stage and disliked each stage ~ depending on the day, the mood, the amount of sleep I had, the fullness of the moon… let’s be honest, parenting is hard, if you’re doing it right.
I wore this dress to church last weekend, before I left the house though, I decided I needed to put a pair of short leggings on underneath. I don’t like a dress way above my knees when I go to church or to work.
I just had to have these shoes repaired. We have an amazing place here called “The Shoe Hospital”, this guy is amazing and can fix anything! I’ve taken him shoes, belts, dog leashes, he’s your guy if you need some repair work!
