I love this time of year, spring is my absolute favorite! New buds on the trees, the grass starts to turn green (remember, I live in western Michigan), the sun comes back out, the spring flowers poke through the earth.
It’s like a new start, a new beginning, and I love every minute of that. For years, a new beginning meant PCSing to a new base ( for those non-military members, that’s when you are moved from one duty station to the next). I’ve had 14 duty stations in my lifetime! Prior to retiring here in Big Rapids, the longest I had ever lived anywhere was 6 years and that was grades K -6.
One thing I’ve noticed about living in one place for 10 years is I’ve accumulated o much stuff. The nice thing about moving every two years, is that you constantly purge. It keeps things cleaned out and manageable. I guess I’m going to have to do an intentional cleaning and purging this year, a 10 year anniversary of living in the house!
Today was Jackson’s last game of regular season baseball. We headed over to the other side of the state for a beautiful sunshiny day is fun. It was a good day for them, and for us! It’s been a good year and fun to watch him work hard.
Of course I had to sport my Delta Tee to support the team and I’m not so sure my pants matched, but since it wasn’t terribly hot yet, I went for the fun ones!
