I don’t know that we’ll have Tacos today, but for my friends who travel to Destin every year, we have found a hidden gem across the bridge here!

What do I mean by that? Well if you’ve ever been to Destin, you know the TRAFFIC is horrendous, and I am not exaggerating. There are a lot of people visiting and on the go in Destin. And not only is traffic really heavy, going out to eat is challenging. There are sometimes hour + waits to get seated.

This year we are staying across the bridge from Destin in Niceville, Florida. We’re staying with dear friends, on the water, but on the bay side versus the gulf side. If you look at a map, you’ll see what I mean.

The only ‘con’ I’ve found to this is having to drive to the beach, I can’t roll out of bed and walk along the ocean, I take my walk in a lovely neighborhood instead.

But the “pros” are amazing! There is very little traffic ( you might be behind 4 cars at a stoplight), there are NO LINES at the grocery store (and if you’ve been to Wal-Mart in Destin you KNOW that place is wall to wall people, cashiers with 4/5 carts deep), and there is NO waiting at restaurants! And we’ve been out to eat every night!!! Seafood (The Boat House), American food with a waterside twist (The Locals Eatery), sushi ( Bamboo… YUMMMM. You must try the Godzilla roll!!)…, No lines, no waiting, great service, pleasant waitstaff!!!

Just food for thought for all of our traveling friends!
