When our kids were little, we used to have a meal named foreach day of the week, this came in particularly useful when my husband was deployed or out on temporary duty somewhere. Muffin Monday, Taco Tuesday, Waffle Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday (milkshakes for dessert) and Fantastic Friday (which usually consisted of pizza, chips and a movie ~ and still does). As they grew older, many of these faded away, although we still have Taco Tuesday every Tuesday that we can with our kids, my brother, our neighbors and our neighbors kids. I may start something like that with my blog here… Military Monday (all about my military friends); Taco Tuesday (food and recipes; Wandering Wednesday (travels); Throwback Thursday (borrowing the phrase from social media) and Friendship Friday (I’m so very blessed in this area). I’m not sure how this is going to go, but like most of my life right now, it’s a work in progress.
I’m traveling again today, definitely without a capsule wardrobe, although because I had to bring spring clothes for Katie and several things for Jackson, and because I’m sure I’ll either be in the lazy river, thebeach or at a ball park for the next few days, I packed very casually – with an outfit for church (or 2) thrown in there. I’m headed to Orlando to watch Jackson in his first tournament of his college baseball career. Katie is on her college spring break, so she is going to fly down from DC and join me. And bonus, my best neighbor ever friend is coming down Monday to join me as well.
Traveling today, from snowy Michigan to warm Florida, I chose to again wear my super cozy comfortable “women with control” QVC black pants. A very cozy long sleeve top I found at our local Meijer grocer/everything store, my very favorite Nike tennis shoes (I may have 3 pairs in different colors, because I’m so afraid they are going to no longer be available)and my black Denim & Co ruffled front zip upjacket. It’s the only pair of long pants I brought. It’s Orlando right? But they’re so versatile, I can wear them anywhere with anything. They also have them in ankle length which will be really nice for spring and for fall.
Keep an eye out friends over the next week or so and follow me around Orlando, Winter Haven… I’m testing out a new place to stay. They say it’s lovely… “The Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Lake Orange”. A resort, with a 2 bedroom vill,a a couple ofpools and a lazy river ( which one of my all time favorite ways to spend an afternoon). I’ll let you know how it turns out.
